Day 1: Airport - Managua
|
Arrive into Managua and be transferred directly to your lovely charm hotel in the heart of Managua. This city has strong folkloric heritage and deep-rooted traditions, where the customs and habits of its residents also identify the capital as a happy, caring, hard-working and, above all, optimistic place. As with other cities in Nicaragua, Managua also has its own special cuisine, definitely worth a try. The hotel itself is located within minutes of shopping centers, fashion boutiques, cafes, restaurants, bars and night clubs. Spend the evening enjoying the action the zone provides, or simply relax enjoying the amenities of your deluxe charm hotel.

Tours & activities at Morgan’s Rock take place in the privileged setting of the Hacienda that entails various ecosystems such as primary tropical dry forest, secondary forest, hardwood plantations, pastures, untouched beaches and hills overlooking volcanoes, Lake Nicaragua and the Pacific Ocean. In addition, all guided tours at Hacienda Morgan’s Rock support local community members and help the conservation of the forest and the acquisition of more land to be conserved and reforested. Day 5: Morgan's Rock - Granada
|
Be picked up at your hotel at 10:00 am and be transferred to the beautiful colonial city of Granada. The oldest city in the Americas, Granada was founded in 1524 by the conquistador Hernández de Cordoba. Once the business and shipping capital for the entire region, today Granada proudly remains one of the last true colonial cities; an undiscovered jewel. Spend an afternoon/evening enjoying this magical colonial town, considered by some to be the most beautiful in the world. Walk its romantic cobble stone streets, visit the central plaza and enjoy a lovely dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in the area.

Day 6: Granada (Free day)
|
Free day to tour the magical colonial city of Granada. Set on the west coast of Lake Nicaragua, the city offers excellent day tour opportunities and historical interest. Relive those times by taking a ride in a horse-drawn coach, leaving from the Parque Colon, and enjoy the scenery of Granada. On Fridays, experience the Noches de Serenata (Serenade Nights) and enjoy the local cuisine and a festive atmosphere enlivened by a variety of musical groups. The Convent and Church of San Francisco of Granada were founded in 1529. San Francisco is the first church of the city and one of the most important colonial buildings in Central America. The Convent is now a museum that houses part of the pre-Columbian statuary of Nicaragua. Visit the shores of Lake Nicaragua and take a boat ride from La Cabaña Amarilla or from Port Asese for an incredible ecological voyage among 350 small islands, borne from a violent explosion of the nearby Mombacho Volcano. Day 7: Granada (Free day)
|

Day 8: Granada - Leon
|
Be picked up at your hotel at 9:00 am and be transferred to the beautiful colonial city of Leon, the capital of Nicaragua until 1852. Leon still retains its colonial-style streets and buildings from that time, evidenced by its beautiful cathedral - the largest in Central America. The cathedral’s atrium is adorned with impressive lions, more of which are found around the fountain of the central plaza. This church was built between 1747 and 1860, and then restored in 1992. The interior is in the baroque style, and holds valuable oil paintings and frescos as well as an image of Christ carved in wood, which was rescued from Leon Viejo. It also houses the tomb of the “Prince of Spanish Letters”, Ruben Dario. Stop to visit the churches of La Merced, El Calvario, San Juan, San Francisco, San Juan Bautista de Sutiaba and La Recoleccion, which have exquisitely adorned interiors. This city is also famous for the stunning and colorful sawdust street carpets made during Holy Week, particularly by the residents of the indigenous neighborhood of Sutiaba. Visit the Ruben Dario Museum, where the poet spent his childhood, and where there are many objects that offer details about the life history of the poet.

|

Day 1 & 9 - MANAGUA
Managua has been Nicaragua's capital since 1851 and today more than one third of the country's population lives there. Evidence of the 1972 earthquake on old Managua is still present, but the modern Managua is a rapidly growing city with cathedrals, shops, Lake Managua, the recently renovated National Palace (containing most of Nicaraguan culture and history), and a thriving markets as places of interest.

Day 2, 3 & 4 - SAN JUAN DEL SUR
San Juan del Sur is 30 minutes from Rivas on Nicaragua's Pacific Coast. This area has singularly beautiful coral reefs and rocky beaches, with clear warm waters, ideal for deepwater fishing. Surfers and beach lovers alike will also fall under the spell of this beautiful region.

Day 5, 6 & 7 - GRANADA
The colonial city of Granada, on the base of the Mombacho Volcano, is one of the most important colonial cities in Central America and offers its visitors an amazing variety of activities, like shopping, museums, day tours etc. Set on the west coast of Lake Nicaragua Granada is ideal to explore the many little islands set in the lake.

Day 8 - LEON
Discover the charms of small but interesting city of León, enjoy its churches, monuments, markets, and learn more about its rich history, including its most famous former resident Rubén Darío, Father of Nicaraguan poetry. León Viejo close by has been declared in the year 2000 by UNESCO a "heritage site of humanity" as a symbol of Spanish conquest.

What to Bring
Mostly dry and tropical fauna and flora at its best, but this also means warm and at times humid, so dress accordingly. We recommend the following:
