At 9:00 am your private guide will pick you up at your hotel for your excursion to the ruins of Uxmal and Kabah. Uxmal is located one hour south of Merida and features palaces of majestic architecture. Some very fine carved stelae have also been discovered here, and the study of their inscriptions and those found on the buildings themselves has played an important role in the ongoing decoding of Mayan writing. While almost certainly subordinate to the larger city of Uxmal, Kabah, just a few miles away, was not just a minor city, but an important location in its own right and surprises today’s visitors with its own special ambiance. The main structure here is the Palace of the Masks, an imposing building used for religious rituals and other state ceremonies. Return in the evening to your hotel. While in Merida, do not forget to try some of the exquisite dishes characteristic of the Yucatecan cuisine. Papadzules and panuchos for example are made with stuffed corn tortillas and bathed in hot sauce. The traditional cochinita pibil is pork marinated in orange juice and served with beans and red onion. Enjoy…
UXMAL & KABAH TOUR: 9:00 am departure from your hotel with expert bilingual guide for a full day tour including entrance fees, transport and lunch (without beverages).

What to Bring
Mexico:
The Yucatan peninsula is characterized by tropical fauna and flora at its best, but this also means warm and humid, so dress accordingly. June to October are considered to be the rainy season, but even during these months the rain is usually short-lived and gives way to the famous Mexican sun within a few hours. Tropical flora and fauna can be enjoyed all year long and temperatures are usually in the 80s.
Please make sure to bring the following:
Mosquito repellent - Sunscreen - Hiking boots or good pair of tennis shoes - Rain gear - Bathing Suites - Rash guard for the water-sports people - Sun glasses
