Día 1: Cancun Airport - Hotel
|
Arrive into Cancun at the Mayan Riviera at (TBC) and be transferred directly to your airport hotel. All over Mexico history has left a legacy of majestic archaeological zones to mankind, some of which date back 3,000 years to the Mesoamerican civilizations. While touring the Yucatan peninsula you will learn more about the rituals, customs, traditions, architecture, and astronomy of this fascinating civilization and can visit some of the most important sites. Take a taxi to Cancun’s hotel zone to explore the beach and the numerous shops and restaurants or simply enjoy the amenities of your hotel resting up for your next day's adventures. *Direct flights, e.g. from Miami or Houston, to the international airport of Merida are also an excellent option for this tour.

Día 2: Cancun - Hacienda Temozon (Merida)
|
Today your private driver will pick you up at 9:00 am for your 4.5 hour-drive to the Merida Region. Founded upon the ruins of the Mayan city T’ho, which was constructed with white limestone and means "Face of Infinity," Merida is known today as the White City. It has beautiful and solidly built colonial buildings that house the city’s history, art, traditions and culture. You will stay at the beautiful Hacienda Temozon, a superb residence in the heart of the Yucatan Peninsula (35 minutes south of Merida) which recreates the belle époque of the Mexican southeast. Delight in the flavors of the hotel’s cuisine, the architectural heritage of its rooms and the archeological zones, colonial villages and the natural reserves that surround the hacienda. Día 3: Hacienda Temozon (Free Day)
|
Free day to enjoy the many attractions the Merida Region has to offer. If you wish to see the Hacienda Temozon as in the old times, for example, you can take a short tour of the hacienda grounds in a small train which is pulled by a donkey or a mule, visiting the orange fields and a cenote nearby. You can also go on a half-day tour to explore the Celestun National Park, one of the most important national parks in Mexico and home to more than 300 different kinds of birds, visit the city of Merida, or the Mayan ruins along the Puuc Route like Kabah and Uxmal. Día 4: Hacienda Temozon - Hacienda Puerta Campeche (Campeche)

Depart from Hacienda Temozon at 10:00 am for a drive south to Campeche (approx. 2 hrs). Arrive at Campeche around lunch time. Enjoy a free afternoon/evening taking a walk along the Historic Center’s cobblestone streets, where you’ll see a wide variety of stores, restaurants, bars and cafes, or stroll down the beautiful 3.5 km (2 mi) boardwalk, which leads to a tourist walkway, parks and a bicycle track. Día 5: Hacienda Puerta Campeche (Free Day)

Free day to explore the town of Campeche and its surrounding areas where visitors can find a variety of archaeological sites, one of the closest being Edzna, which invite you to step back in time and learn more about the great achievements of the Mayas. The city of Campeche itself offers its visitors numerous museums, like House 6 in the city center as well as the Fortresses of San Miguel, San Carlos and San Jose, churches and lovely cobblestone streets and boardwalks to enjoy and discover. Día 6: Hacienda Puerta Campeche - Hacienda San Jose (Merida)
|
At 10:00 am your private driver will pick you up and take you to Hacienda San Jose, located 45 minutes east of Merida. The main 18th century building of this small, private hacienda, which as been converted into a deluxe hotel, is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hacienda invites you to evoke the splendor of past eras, enveloped in the luxurious amenities and services expected of a five-star hotel. Surrounded by major archaeological zones and colonial villages like Chichen Itza (1 hour 15 minutes drive), Ek Balam and Dzibilchaltun and natural reserves (the rare Pink Flamingos in Rio Lagartos), the historical "yellow" city of Izamal and the hacienda Ake, where you still can see how they worked the Sisal fibers in the glorious days, the hacienda is the perfect place for cultural day trips. Día 7: Hacienda San Jose (Free Day)

Free day to enjoy the many attractions your hotel and the Merida Region have to offer. Hacienda San Jose is a great base to visit the famous ruins of Chichen Itza or some smaller sites like Dzibilchaltún or Izamal. Chichen Itza features some of the greatest architectural achievements in all of the Americas, like “The Castillo”, also called the "Pyramid of Kukulkan". Dedicated to Kukulkan, the "Plumed Serpent", this pyramid’s three hundred sixty five steps represent the days of the solar year. Another attraction of this archaeological site is the New World's largest ball court. Día 8: Hacienda San Jose - Cancun (Departure)

Last free morning to enjoy the many wonders of this region or buy some presents for the beloved ones at home. Your private driver will pick you up at (TBC) for your 4-hour-drive to Cancun International Airport for your departure flight home. *Please note: Depending on your flight schedule it might be advisable to spend an additional night in Cancun. **Should you wish to end you vacations with some fun in the sun, we will be happy to extend your tour. Día 1 – CANCUN/RIVIERA MAYA
The Mayan Riviera, located on the eastern side of the Yucatan Peninsula, offers the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea, top-notch tourist resorts, white-sand beaches, marvelous ecological reserves and ancient Mayan ruins, e.g. Tulum. During your stay, you can do water sports like snorkeling, scuba diving, parachuting, or sailing, or you can visit one of the main tourist destinations like Cancun and Playa del Carmen for some shopping and nightlife.

Día 4 & 5 - CAMPECHE
Surrounded by major archaeological zones and colonial villages Campeche is an excellent destination to discover history, traditions and exciting adventures. The city itself offers its visitors vivid reminders of its history, like a giant wall that once protected the city from pirate attacks in the 17th and 18th centuries and nine bulwarks and fortifications, as well as some interesting museums. You can take a walk along the Historic Center’s cobblestone streets, where you’ll see a wide variety of stores, restaurants, bars and cafes.

The Yucatan peninsula is characterized by tropical fauna and flora at its best, but this also means warm and humid, so dress accordingly. June to October are considered to be the rainy season, but even during these months the rain is usually short-lived and gives way to the famous Mexican sun within a few hours. Tropical flora and fauna can be enjoyed all year long and temperatures are usually in the 80s.
