Afterwards we'll be heading to the Agua Azul National Park where you can appreciate an abundance of flora and fauna in a natural habitat full of mahogany, cedar and sapodilla trees, as well as birds, insects and small mammals. You can swim in the beautiful blue waters, which have that color as a result of erosion; water flowing past the rocks causes small particles of lime containing magnesium salts and other chlorides to break off and dissolve.

Afterwards we will continue our tour to Escudo Jaguar from where we will take a private boat ride (approx. 1 hour) along the Usumacinta River to the archaeological site of Yaxchilan, a prototype of a city lost in the jungle. Return to Palenque in the late afternoon.
