The Jungle Lodge Hotel was established in 1956 by Mr. Antonio Ortiz Contreras, who discovered the Temple of the Inscriptions in 1951. Just a 10 minute walk from the ceremonial center of Tikal, in the midst of the luscious humid tropical forest of Peten, the lodge started as base for the logistics of the Tikal Project, and room and board for the archeologists. The Jungle Lodge Hotel has been under constant renovation in order to adjust to the modern standards of comfort and hospitality. The hotel’s gardens offer the tourists a spectacular environment with its varied flora and fauna.

• Payments accepted via Wire Transfer, Check or Credit Card
• A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 45 days prior to arrival date (60 days for Christmas/New Year and Easter reservations).
• Cancellations must be made in writing 45 days prior to arrival date (60 days for Christmas/New Year and Easter reservations) for full refund, subject to any cancellation fees that may be charged by the hotel and the administrative fee identified herein below. If cancellations are not made in writing within 45 days (60 days for Christmas/New Year and Easter reservations), penalties may be equal to the total invoiced amount (hotel terms will apply.)
• All cancellations received at any time will be charged a minimum $100 US administrative fee.
