Mawamba Lodge is situated on the Northeast area of Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast on a sand bar between the Tortuguero Canals and the Caribbean Ocean, an excellent location that provides direct access to the pristine beach and the canals. Nestled in the lush rainforest, this is the ideal hideaway for nature lovers and the perfect place to discover the wonders of the Tortuguero National Park. The Lodge is a 15-acre beach front property located on the right side of Tortuguero, offering nice views to the Tortuguero Lagoon and the canals.

AMENITIES
• All rooms are equipped with either one double and one single bed or three single beds and feature private bathrooms with hot water, ceiling fans, tranquil garden views, and chairs for pleasant, relaxing evenings.
• The Standard Superior Rooms are new rooms that are completely designed for Honeymooners. Each room is independent. They have a King sized bed, a table with 2 chairs, hot water, private tub & shower, hair dryer, and a full size body mirror.
• Full Restaurant & Bar Service
• Swimming Pool, whirlpool and private beach
• Hammocks tucked away in the gardens
• Open sky butterfly farm and private nature trails

CLASSIC PACKAGES
The Tortuguero National Park is the most important nesting site in the entire Western half of the Caribbean for the green sea turtle. The season starts around mid July and ends by October. However nature lovers and bird watchers will always get their money worth when visiting this tropical region. The Mawamba Lodge Classic Tours include the following activities to help you make the most of your stay and experience this fantastic natural paradise.
One night packages include:
• Afternoon tour to Tortuguero town and visit the Caribbean Conservation Corporation Museum and the village.
• Morning boat tour through the Tortuguero Canals.
Two nights packages include:
• Afternoon tour to Tortuguero town and visit to the Caribbean Conservation Corporation Museum and the village.
• Morning boat tour through the Tortuguero Canals and later to Tortuguero Hill or National Park, where you will enjoy a hiking trip along the nature trails.
• Afternoon canal boat tour and optional night tour to search the turtle nesting (during season July - September).
Three or four nights packages include:
• Tours as described in the 2-night-package
• Free day(s) to join the lodge’s staff on one of their daily tours, including morning & afternoon boat tours in the canals or hiking trip to Tortuguero Hill or National Park. You can also enjoy hotels facilities including pool area, nature trails, butterfly garden & entertainment room. Optional & additional cost activities include fishing and canoeing in the area. All meals & lodging included at the hotel.
Optional tours offered by the Mawamba Lodge are furthermore the Turtle nesting tour - and fishing trips with experienced local captains for Tarpon, Snook, Jacko Bell, Red Snapper, and Macko among other species (trips and rates upon request).

• The maximum luggage weight permitted on the small boats is 25 pounds per person • Prices per person in USD • Children 0-3 years old are free of charge when sharing the room with 2 adults. Children 4-11 years pay a special rate, when sharing the room with 2 adults (see above). Maximum 2 children per room. • All rooms have a maximum capacity of 4 people, either with 4 single beds or 1 double and two singles (subject to availability).
• Superior Rooms available for 1 or 2 adults only - no children or extra persons.

Reservation Terms:

• 50% of invoiced amount is required in order to confirm reservation, balance due 45 days prior to arrival
• Cancellations must be made in writing 45 days prior to arrival date for full refund, excluding any cancellation fees that may be charged by the hotel and the administrative fee identified herein below. If cancellations are not made in writing within 45 days, penalties may be equal to the total invoiced amount (hotel terms will apply.) All cancellations received at any time will be charged $50 US administrative fee.
