ROOM TYPES
Standard Cabins: El Remanso has 3 private, spacious and comfortable one-bedroom Standard Cabins that can accommodate couples or small families. Each one has capacity for 2-4 people. The front side of the cabins has a full height sliding door, and the other 3 sides have wooden louvered screened openings offering excellent air ventilation. Each cabin has one queen size bed and can fit in 2 additional single beds. A feeling of warmth is created by the use of hardwoods for the furniture inside the cabin. The hot-water shower is separated from the rest of the cabin by a beautifully shaped colored wall and offers great views of the tropical garden around the cabins as well as views to both the ocean and the forest. Hammocks and comfortable terrace chairs offer perfect opportunities for relaxation after an active day in the rainforest.
Deluxe Cabins: The 2 Deluxe Cabins offer tranquility and the "real jungle feeling" in an exclusive way. The El Remanso Deluxe Cabins are ideal for honeymooners or couples who are looking for a romantic retreat as both Deluxe Cabins offer absolute privacy in the middle of the rainforest. Suite "La Vainilla" offers 2 separate bedrooms with an upper deck not fully screened, thus offering incredible ocean views. "La Guinda" is a one bedroom deluxe cabin with a spacious outside deck overlooking the ocean and a unique bathroom featuring a mosaic-style bathtub.
Group Cabin “Casa Osa”: Casa Osa is a delightful and comfortable 2 level house, with three bedrooms, one upstairs and two downstairs. All rooms offer complete screening from the outside. The upper floor features a covered hardwood deck in front of the room wit comfortable chairs and hammocks, a perfect place for wildlife watching and relaxation. The ground level has a comfortable patio lounge with hammocks ideal for sharing unforgettable moments with your family! The bathrooms feature hot-water showers and offer nice views of the surrounding private tropical garden. With a capacity for up to 8 people (4 people minimum) Casa Osa can comfortably host groups and families.
Casa Poniente: Casa Poniente is a two-storey house with two independent Deluxe Suites on the upper level with and four independent Standard Rooms on the Ground Level. As its name implies, it faces towards the West, thus enabling breathtaking views of the perfect sunset on the infinite Pacific Ocean. Casa Poniente is surrounded by an exotic garden filled with endemic plants, such as heliconias, "platanillas" and orchids to attract birds and wildlife. Each room has a separate entrance with an independent terrace, screened conveniently for privacy with plants. To prevent birds from flying into glass windows, the lodge simply avoids their use at El Remanso and privileges the use of wooden shutters and curtains in Casa Poniente. The terrace with hammocks and comfortable lounge chairs is partly covered and provides the perfect space for relaxation, sunbathing and wildlife watching.
Deluxe Suites: Each Deluxe Suite in "Casa Poniente" has a king size bed with space enough to add another 2 additional single beds. The bathroom walls are covered with natural stone and feature hot water showers as well as bathtubs. As you shower or take a bath you may see wildlife approaching on the nearby trees.
Standard Rooms: The Standard Rooms in "Casa Poniente" have either king size or single beds, depending on your needs and each of them has a covered terrace. Two of these rooms offer ocean views, while the other two are oriented towards the forest with a private small garden in front of them. The tropical external bathrooms feature a stone wall hot-water shower for a well deserved cleansing after an active day in the rainforest. Original wave-form walls separate the bathrooms from the tropical garden while still maintaining views of the nearby forest.
ACTIVITIES
Due to the magnificent location to the El Remanso Rainforest Wildlife Lodge you may see monkeys leaping in the trees, exotic birds calling and the occasional big cat stalking wild peccaries. Explore hidden valleys with botanical treasures or lagoons and tide pools at the beach. The observant hiker can find sloths, kinkajous, eagles, toucans and parrots. Recent sightings include jaguars, ocelots and several species of rare endemic birds. Adventures visitors can enjoy canopy or waterfall rappelling tours.
