Waterfalls at Hidden Valley Inn

Imagine an 80 ft cascade plunging into a crystal clear pool just made for swimming: a lost paradise as you look up at rock walls hanging with bromeliads, orchids and ferns sparkling with the spray of the falls. Imagine gazing across the escarpment at a magnificent waterfall tumbling 1000 ft into the dense jungle below. Imagine the privilege of enjoying all this; alone.

At Hidden Valley Inn, our property and its multitude of waterfalls is exclusively accessible to resident guests. With only 12 cabanas your privacy is our priority.

Tiger Creek Falls Butterfly Falls
This 700 foot waterfall disappearing into a jungle shrouded valley can be admired from two breath-taking lookouts.

Tiger Creek Pools
Swim in the natural horizon pools at the top of Tiger Creek Falls and dry off on the sun- baked granite rocks.

Butterfly Falls
This waterfall is often described as the jewel of the property, cascading 80 ft into an idyllic pool surrounded by sheer cliffs and tropical vegetation. A swim at Butterfly Falls is an unforgettable experience.

Devil's Falls Manakin Falls
This series of pools and falls is not for the faint-hearted. The most recently discovered set of waterfalls on the property, each with perfect pools for a refreshing dip, is reached by following the river downstream on an unmarked trail deep into the broadleaf jungle.

Manakin Falls
Sunbathe on the warm granite boulders at the base of this 90 ft waterfall and cool off in the pool at the base of the falls.

King Vulture Falls
This 800 foot waterfall is a nesting site for the magnificent King Vulture and these majestic birds can often be seen soaring up and down the canyon. The cliffs around the fall are also a nesting site for the extremely rare Orange Breasted falcon.

Hidden Valley Falls (1000 ft Falls) Hidden Valley Falls (1000 ft Falls)
Recently proclaimed as a national monument and opened to the public, this waterfall is reputed to be the highest waterfall in Central America. Although its name suggests otherwise, it is closer to 1600 ft. There is a US$1 charge to view the falls and cold drinks and assorted crafts made by the caretaker, Pedro’s family are for sale.

Secret Pools and Falls
A series of two waterfalls and pools set in the tropical broadleaf jungle is the perfect place to spend some time swimming and exploring.

Orchid Falls Secret Pools and Falls
A thatched and screened palapa overlooking a large inviting pool forms an idyllic setting for a romantic getaway. Doze in a hammock, relax in one of the comfortable armchairs or float around the pool in an inner tube. Accessible by pick up and drop off at the head of an easy 20 minute hiking trail, this waterfall is available by reservation only.

Secret Pools and Falls and Orchid Falls may be reserved for the day at a cost of US$80. This includes lunch and sparkling wine set out with white linen and fresh flowers as well as transport to and/or from the falls. This is included in the honeymoon package.
